As a native of Kerala, South India, and an American citizen, he had spent 20 years in the USA, and at the end of 1997 moved to the heart of Europe.
The "Roving Ambassador of Ayurveda" as India Link Magazine calls him in one of its feature articles, is now based in Prague, Czech Republic.
The outstanding Ayurvedic physician has been a determined popularizer of Ayurveda and its philosophy. With years of extensive experience, he is a sought after teacher both in and outside the academic environment who always strives to touch the deepest core in his listeners, whatever audience he addresses.
In 1987, he started teaching at the San Francisco College of Acupuncture, gave innumerable lectures and seminars in the course of the following years and in 1996 -1997 lectured at Bastyr University in the state of Washington, USA. He appeared on American public TV and radio several times.
Born into a Christian family with a rich medical tradition, he has been interested in yoga and philosophy since his early childhood. At the age of 17, he joined the foremost spiritual teacher in South India, Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati, the succesor of Nataraja Guru in Narayana Guru's lineage, at his ashram.
He pursued his yoga studies with the highly acclaimed teachers Cidambaran and K.P.G.Nair and completed a Yoga Teachers Proficiency course at G.S.College of Yoga in Lonavala, Poona. After several years of studying philosophy with Guru Nitya, he decided to follow his Guru's advice to study Ayurveda.
After arriving in the USA, he completed his Ayurvedic studies under the direct supervision of Dr. Vasant Lad, the topmost teacher of Ayurveda in the West.
In 1985 he was offered the opportunity of working with Dr. Deepak Chopra. Instead, he decided to proceed with his studies in Chinese medicine.
In 1990, he acquired the Masters Degree in Chinese Medicine and 4 years later his Oriental Medical Doctor's Diploma. Ever since he has continued his informal studies with several famous Ayurveda Vaidyas in India. He is currently been pursuing his doctorae studies in Siddha Medicine.
